Welcome to my Acoustic Music Page

Music is a very important part of most all of our lives.  And, it has certainly made a very powerfully significant impact over the course of my life.  Different from the music I grew up on, Acoustic Music has been a very specific and personal choice of mine because it is more natural.

Unplugged, you might say.

These selections come from, and intersect with these different categories:  Folk, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz, Classical and New Age.  Even when it comes to Folk music, it's the musicianship that always matters.  Most specifically, clean and balanced sound, especially with a very good melody.  Harmony is very much a favorite of mine.

I created a Forums website, which is separate from this website to have a place to collect content, ideas and thoughts.  A place to organize these things separate from all other social media sites.  A place of my own where I can claim my successes and qualities, as well as bear witness to the terrible, terrible things I've experienced and learned.

JERRY DOUGLAS, RUSS BARENBERG, & EDGAR MEYER

This song "Big Bug Shuffle" is from the album called Skip, Hop & Wobble.  I love this album. These are three musician's from a community of musicians that regularly play & record together.  This is the first album in the long list of albums for Edge Meyer, bassist.

Also, on my acoustic music "Wish List."

TONY RICE & JOHN CARLINI FULL ALBUM

This is the full album "River Suite for Two Guitars."

Again,  Tony Rice is my absolute favorite musician, in large part because I wanted to play just like him.  His musicianship and articulation seems to be unmatched.  And, matched up with John Carlini, makes for beautiful guitar music!

Also, on my acoustic music "Wish List."

DAROL ANGER & BARBARA HIGBIE QUINTET | "EGRETS"

This is one song, "Egrets" from the album "Live at Montreux" by the Darol Anger & Barbara Higbie Quintet, with Mike Marshall, Todd Phillips, and Andy Narell.

Again, beautiful acoustic musicianship.

This is on my "Wish List"

TONY RICE UNIT | MANZANITA

Tony Rice has been the quintessential bluegrass guitar player, with his very clean picking, and very jazzy breaks.

Tony Rice has long been a favorite of mine, for both is skills & capacity for playing extremely well, and playing with so many other matching musicians.

Just the name Manzanita reminds me of my father and his use of the manzanita root to make a coffee table among other things.

METAMORA | SONG "MORNINGTIME"

This is a song from Metamora's first album called "Morningtime."  I love the fact that is simple, yet melodic.  A mellow song that is very interesting.

I owned this album when I was searching for music that was not Rock n Roll, or anything popular.  But, more natural, where the song could be played without electrification.

METAMORA | SONG "PLUM CREEK - NEW WALTZ""

This is a song from Metamora's first album called "Plum Creek - New Waltz."  I love the fact that is simple, yet melodic.  A couple of folk songs that sound new.  And then there's the "New Waltz."

I owned this album when I was searching for music that was not Rock n Roll, or anything popular.  But, more natural, where the song could be played without electrification.

METAMORA | SONG "ENDLESS CHAIN"

This is a song from Metamora's first album called "Endless Chain."  Again, I love the fact that is simple, yet melodic.  A new-old folk song.  Love it.

I owned this album when I was searching for music that was not Rock n Roll, or anything popular.  But, more natural, where the song could be played without electrification.

METAMORA | SONG "MORNING WALK"

This is a song from a Windom Hill album where the song and album are called "Morning Walk."

I think this song was originally release on their 2nd album called "The Great Road." I'm hard pressed to decide which album was better.  Both are excellent!
